Employee Spotlight: Jose “Poncho” Mendez
Our Employee Spotlight this quarter is Safety and Shop Coordinator, Jose “Poncho” Mendez. Poncho, as he is affectionately known, always goes out of his way to ensure our crews have everything they need to get tasks completed on time. He is the backbone of what we do on a day-to-day basis here in the Basin. He is always the first to hop up and help with any job that is needed, whether that be moving equipment, setting up for meetings, or cleaning up after projects. When Poncho isn’t working for BIDA, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids. When Jon is away from the Basin, he loves to spend time with his three kids, taking trips to Oregon to visit family, and more recently to San Luis Obispo to see his youngest daughter in her first year at Cal Poly. When not with the kids, Jon is typically tending to his family’s cattle and animals on their property.
Thank you, Jon, for all that you do to help ensure SMWC and RD1500 are running so we can maintain a vibrant and functional Basin.
